I was pleased to have been quoted as a ‘senior employment lawyer’ in an important story for business in the Independent and The i today.  The story follows the closure of a USC fashion warehouse where employees were given only 15 minutes notice of their dismissal, expected to be sufficient time for proper consultation. The story links in to Sports Direct, which bought the chain out of administration.

Although zero hours contracts can be of mutual benefit to employees and employers, they are not designed to be the norm. It is important for any business to properly consider its resourcing needs and to build a structure which provides stability for all those involved.
